All India Federation of Tax Practitioners has requested the Central Board of Direct Taxes to further extend the last date of filing of income tax return for the assessment year 2024-25 by one month up to August 31. He added that landslides in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have further exacerbated these issues. In this memorandum, it has also been claimed that there were frequent problems with the income tax portal and software. It also said that difficulties in downloading and verifying various forms are always experienced. Moreover, it said the process of payment of self-assessment tax through banks and downloading challans also takes a lot of time.
