For some time, all the buildings in the capital of Taiwan shook very strongly, but till now no clear information about the damage has been revealed.

The weather bureau said the quake's epicenter was at a depth of 7.2 km (4.5 mi) in the sea near Hualien County. According to local media reports, people are in panic after the strong earthquake. Everyone came out of their homes and offices. It is known that Taiwan is located near the junction of two tectonic plates and is sensitive to earthquakes.

Earlier, strong earthquake tremors were felt in the northeast of Taiwan on September 18. During that time the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 6.1. Buildings have shaken due to the earthquake. However, even during that time, no clear information was given regarding the loss.

Earlier, an earthquake in southern Taiwan in 2016 had killed more than 100 people, while a magnitude 7.3 quake in 1999 had killed more than 2,000.
