Ruckus in Pakistan after defeat to India, former captain held Imad Wasim responsible; said- 'He deliberately lost the match'
Pakistan had to score only 120 runs to win. Everything was going well till the 14th over. But as soon as Jasprit Bumrah bowled Mohammad Rizwan on the first ball of the 15th over, the match turned around. Imad Wasim was on the field at that time but he was not able to play the ball and was continuously bowling empty balls.

The Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup 2024, defeating Pakistan. Nobody anticipated India to win, but in the final five overs, the Indian bowlers turned the tables and stole the victory from Pakistan. After this setback, Pakistan's previous captain accused Imad Wasim of purposefully losing the match.
Pakistan had to score only 120 runs to win. Everything was going so great until the 14th. The contest, however, swung dramatically when Jasprit Bumrah bowled Mohammad Rizwan on the first ball of the 15th over. Imad Wasim was on the pitch at the time, but he was unable to play the ball and continued to bowl empty balls.
Imad Wasim scored only 15 runs facing 23 balls. Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik has criticized Imad Wasim for this. Malik said on 24 News Channel, "You see Wasim's innings. Looking at his innings, it seemed that he was deliberately wasting balls. He was not scoring runs but was making things more difficult in the run chase."
Imad stayed till the end but he could not lead the team to victory and the result was that Pakistan had to face defeat by six runs.
Another former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has also said a big thing about the Pakistan team after this defeat. Afridi has said that many players of the team have problems with captain Babar Azam. Afridi said, "The captain takes everyone together. Either he ruins the team environment or builds it. Let the World Cup get over, I will speak openly. I have such a relationship with Shaheen that if I say anything, people will say that I am favoring him."
