Earlier on December 21, terrorists had attacked an army convoy in Rajouri. 5 soldiers were martyred in this. On December 23, terrorists had tried to infiltrate into Akhnoor. A terrorist was killed in the firing by security forces.

On December 21, terrorists attacked an army convoy in Dera street between Poonch and Rajouri. In this, 5 soldiers were martyred, while 2 soldiers were injured. Terror group People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) had claimed responsibility for this attack. The terrorists attacked the army with American M-4 carbine assault rifles.

December 23: One terrorist killed during infiltration in Akhunar
On December 23, 4 terrorists tried to infiltrate on the International Border in Akhnoor. During this time a terrorist was killed. 250-300 terrorists ready to infiltrate into India
On December 16, a senior BSF officer had informed quoting intelligence that 250 to 300 terrorists are on the launchpad on the Pakistan border. They are trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. The officer said that the security forces have been alerted. Any attempt of infiltration from across the border will be foiled.
