Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], September 17: She is the first Ontarian to win this prestigious title. In fact, she is the first person ever to win Mrs Brampton, Mrs Canada Globe and Mrs Globe Curve in her first attempt in Pageant’s 30-year-old history.
Pooja Walia, a vibrant and passionate individual, has made her mark by winning the prestigious title of Mrs Canada Globe Curve 2024-25 in Edmonton, Alberta. This achievement is a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to making a positive impact in her community.
A devoted advocate for seniors’ welfare, Pooja is the founder of “Golden Grace, Every Senior Matters” advocacy, an initiative born out of a deeply personal experience. In 2021, Pooja lost her mother in India, and due to COVID-19-related flight restrictions, she was unable to travel back to be by her side. This heart-wrenching experience shook her to her core and sparked a desire to ensure that no senior has to spend their final days without their loved ones.
Driven by this passion, Pooja made a bold career shift in 2023, leaving her HR profession to pursue a new path. Today, Pooja works full-time in a Retirement home. dedicating herself to caring for seniors and providing them with love, affection, and quality time. Through her advocacy, Pooja seeks to raise awareness about the challenges faced by seniors, challenge ageist stereotypes, and foster intergenerational connections.
A multi-talented individual, Pooja is also a trained Classical Kathak dancer and a certified Yoga instructor. Her passion for the arts and wellness has enabled her to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and promote cultural understanding and exchange. Pooja’s impressive dance career spans over two decades, with notable performances in Bollywood films like Veer Zaara (Lohri Song with Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan) in 2004 and Dil Apna Punjabi (with Harbhajan Mann and Neeru Bajwa)in 2006. She has also had the privilege of sharing the stage with the legendary Ghazal maestro, late Jagjit Singh, and meeting the iconic Melody Queen, Lata Mangeshkar. Additionally, Pooja was selected to play the character “Krishna Tulsi” in the superhit television show “Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi” (2006-2010), although she left India soon after.
Now she is settled in Canada with her loving husband and two beautiful daughters, where she skillfully balances her family life, work, and passion. Pooja is a PSW, model, and actor. dance teacher and Yoga instructor, and has now added pageantry to her pursuits, winning Mrs. Globe Curve 2025 in her very first attempt.
Pooja was honoured & invited to Ontario’s parliament in Queen’s Park by the Minister of Long Term Care and interviewed for her inspiring work in the Healthcare industry. She was awarded the Woman Hero Award by the House of Commons MP for her outstanding work for Women. Very recently, she received the King Charles III Pin for her Community Service.
As a role model and mentor, she uses her platform to promote positive values and support meaningful causes. With intelligence, compassion, and charisma, Pooja is an exceptional ambassador for Canada as well as India, poised to make a lasting impact as Mrs Globe Curve 2025.
