India's Arjun Babuta qualified for the final by coming seventh in the 10m air riflemen. He scored an overall 630.1 points. Another Indian Sandeep Singh finished 12th with points of 629.3 to miss the finals qualification.
On Sunday, Manu Bhaker made history by winning the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol; now, he targets India's second shooting medal on Monday. Earlier in the day, Ramita Jindal reached the final of the women's 10m air rifle after finishing fifth in the qualification round.
Ramita, who was the second-best Indian shooter till the fifth series of shots, made a comeback as she overtook teammate Elavenil Valarivan in the final series to secure her place in the final. Ramita finished with an aggregate of 631.5 as Elavenil missed out on a place in the final after finishing her qualification round with an aggregate of 630.7 and claimed only the tenth spot. Ramita will shoot for a medal in Monday's final.
