Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has reacted to the remarks of Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar. Moitra said that if an enemy country can steal the data of the apps, then can't they steal the data of Indian users stored abroad.

Moitra made a post on X denying the allegations and asked not to insult my intelligence by alleging that I am putting others forward.

In a post on X, she said, Sir, I am a member of the JPC on IT Communication and Data Protection. This is a valid question for every Indian. If enemy nations can steal data from apps, can't they steal data of Indian users stored abroad? Don't insult my intelligence by accusing me of putting others ahead. Ruia did something that men do.

Union Minister of State Rajiv Chandrashekhar on the allegations against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra of 'taking money and asking questions in Parliament' said that it is really shocking and shameful. He further said that if the allegations are proven true then it is a 'gross travesty and misuse of PQ (parliamentary question).'

Chandrashekhar posted on If this is true then it is really shocking and shameful.

He further said, 'It is true that this company was actively and aggressively lobbying for data localization when the head of this company met me. The language used in the PQ is very similar (linking the need for data localization to data breaches). I don't know the full facts or background on this, but if true then it is a terrible travesty and abuse of PQ.

Earlier in the day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Union Minister of State (MoS) for IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar, demanding an inquiry committee to probe the allegations against Moitra. Dubey claimed that a Supreme Court lawyer had leveled allegations of bribery between Trinamool Congress MP and businessman Darshan Hiranandani.

While reacting to the letter written by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Moitra asked the IT Minister to release the location and login details of all MPs, as parliamentary work is handled by large teams of assistants.

"All the parliamentary work of MPs is done by personal assistants, assistants, interns, big teams," Moitra posted on Respected Ashwini Vaishnav please release details of location and login details of all MPs along with CDR. Please release information on the training given to employees for login.
