If you do not want to give your personal information to Instagram and Facebook, then turn on this setting.
This is a privacy setting that allows users to see and control the data that apps and websites share with the Meta Platform.
Till now, social media firm Meta has continuously faced allegations of breach of personal data of users. The company is also accused of tracking users' online activities and using them for personalized advertising and selling them to other companies. For example, if you search for bags, you may start seeing ads for bags from different companies after a while. This not only raises privacy concerns but is also quite annoying. This problem has been solved as Meta has now introduced Activity Off-Meta technologies to strengthen privacy and give users control over their online activities.
What is Activity Off-Meta Technologies?
This is a privacy setting that allows users to see and control the data that apps and websites share with the Meta Platform. This includes information about interactions with businesses and organizations, such as visits to their apps or websites. That is, all the information that a user does on the platform is to be recorded by Meta and now users can control this information and prevent its access through Meta.
Users can use this tool to see which businesses are sending data to Meta, disconnect specific businesses, or delete all data.
