The rupee is witnessing a rise against the dollar on Wednesday. The rupee is up by 3 paise at 83.22 against the dollar. The reason for the rise in the rupee is believed to be the positive trend in the stock market and the weakness of the American currency.

Forex traders say that due to selling by foreign investors, trading in the rupee remains limited against the dollar.

According to the Interbank Foreign Exchange, the rupee opened at 83.20 and touched 83.22. In this way, a fall of 3 paise was seen in the rupee against the dollar. On Tuesday, the rupee had closed at the level of 83.25.

Dollar index which shows the position of the US dollar against six world currencies. Currently trading at 105.77 points with a decline of 0.05 percent.

Speaking to the news agency, Gaurang Somaiya, Forex and Bullion Analyst, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, said the rupee was trading in a narrow range even after more updates on the escalating conflict in Israel. We expect it to remain between 83.05 to 83.40.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 389.68 points or 0.58 percent at 66,469.04 and the Nifty was up 115 points or 0.58 percent at 19,804.85. Shares worth Rs 1,005.49 crore were sold in the capital market by foreign institutional investors on Tuesday.
