Dengue outbreak is increasing after heavy rains in Uttarakhand. So far this year, 1130 dengue patients have been confirmed, while 13 people have also died in the state. The Health Department has issued instructions to all hospitals for dengue-isolated beds. Talking about active cases, there are 257.
Uttarakhand Health Secretary Rajesh Kumar told news agency ANI that there has been a decline in dengue patients in the last few days, adding that guidelines have been issued to all hospitals for dengue management.
He further said “Hospitals have been asked not to recommend unnecessary platelets. The hospital should demand platelets only when platelets fall below 10 thousand. In Dehradun, we have made a dengue micromanagement plan. We have made a containment zone strategy and our officers will go here and do 100% saturation. Our aim is to saturate every household. We will saturate 100% as soon as possible.”
He also said that if any hospital is found doing any kind of arbitrariness, then a fine ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 2 lakh will be imposed against it under the Clinical Establishment Act and the health department will not shy away from imposing this fine.
