By making calls and internet costlier, corporations will receive 15% more from customers, earning Rs 220 each customer
Telecom: After two and a half years, telecom companies have increased mobile tariffs by up to 20 percent. This can increase their pre-tax profit by 20-22 percent. With this, the earnings per customer (ARPU) of these companies can increase by 15 percent to Rs 220 in 2024-25.

It means that by making talking on mobile phones and using the internet dearer, telecom companies have worked out plans to get a lot from customers. According to rating agency Care Rating, if all mobile and data plans become expensive, companies are likely to earn at least 15 percent more from each customer.
In a report on Monday, the rating agency said that after two and a half years of increasing mobile tariffs by up to 20 percent, the telecom companies have done so. This can increase their pre-tax profit from 20-22 percent. This will result in these companies' earnings per user or ARPU going up by 15 percent to Rs 220 for 2024-25. It was an average of Rs 191 for 2022-23. It said that every rupee increase in ARPU can add as much as Rs 1000 crore to the pre-tax profit of the telecom industry.
This 15% increase in ARPU would not only upgrade technology and expansion of the network but would also, little by little, decrease the debt of these companies.
