Online and part time job scams are happening very fast these days. Cyber fraudsters are making people their victims every day. From people's WhatsApp numbers to text message inboxes, messages about part time jobs are coming and people are getting trapped in this trap. The latest case is from Pune.
An assistant professor from Pune has been defrauded of Rs 21 lakh in an online job scam. According to the report, the victim had received a message for a part-time job in Amazon. The job started after calling the number given in the message and ended after incurring a loss of Rs 21 lakh.
According to the report, this scam happened to the victim between May 2021 and December 2022. The professor placed several orders one after the other from Amazon, resulting in a loss of Rs 21 lakh. The victim had received a message for job on WhatsApp.
The victim was told that they have a website which is affiliated with Amazon and after ordering from that site, he will get commission from Amazon. After this, Professor Saheb placed many orders from the sites of thugs whose total value was Rs 21 lakh.
Professor Saheb was made to fill a form through Telegram and was asked to invest Rs 1,000. After this investment he got back Rs 1,300 after which he was convinced that it was not a fraud.
After that the professor invested Rs 2,000 and got a return of Rs 3,000 and after investing Rs 3,000 he got a return of Rs 6,500. After that he invested about Rs 6.75 lakh. After that the swindlers said that they would get their returns late and the swindlers also said that they would have to keep investing otherwise they would not get even a single penny. In this way, the professor lost a total of Rs 21 lakh in the process of withdrawing the money.
