Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that the state government will file an FIR against those involved in irregularities in providing school uniforms to students. During the Question Hour in the Assam Assembly, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that there have been allegations of irregularities related to school uniforms across the state. After the Lok Sabha elections, the state government will start action in such cases.

CM said, 'We have given funds so that free uniforms can be given to students in schools, but when I went to different places, I found that some schools have good quality school uniforms and some do not. Some school management have made better use of funds, but many are not doing so. This year we aim to provide good quality school uniforms to all the students of Assam. I appeal to all the MLAs to go to the schools in their area and grade the school uniforms, we will take action against the schools which get C grades.

Assam CM said that the government will work in mission mode in this matter and good quality school uniforms and clean mid-day meals will be provided to the school students. The issue was raised by AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam and BJP MLA Dharmeshwar Konwar asked questions regarding the alleged quality of the mid-day meal scheme.
