A spokesperson of BIAL, which manages KIA, said that on May 18, 2024, a fire was reported in the engine of IX 1132 en route from Bengaluru to Kochi. Due to this, an emergency landing was made at BLR airport at 23:12. The fire was extinguished immediately after landing. All 179 passengers and six crew members were successfully evacuated from the aircraft.
